Jazeera Airways launches first-ever winter flights from Kuwait to Prague at ATM Dubai 2026
New seasonal link targets school holidays and festive travel demand
DUBAI – Jazeera Airways has announced its first-ever winter flights between Kuwait and Prague, extending the airline’s established seasonal service to the Czech capital into the colder months.
The new service was announced in partnership with CzechTourism during Arabian Travel Market 2026 in Dubai. The route will give travellers from Kuwait and the wider region direct access to Prague during the festive season and winter school holidays.
Flights will begin on December 17, 2026, with Jazeera Airways operating twice-weekly services between Kuwait and Prague. The seasonal operation is scheduled to continue until February 7, 2027, extending a route that has traditionally been available as part of the airline’s European summer network.
The winter service is being introduced to provide travellers with another opportunity to visit Prague during a period associated with festive markets, seasonal celebrations and winter activities. It also marks the first time Jazeera Airways has operated the Kuwait-Prague route during the winter season.
Winter service
Barathan Pasupathi, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways, said Prague had remained a popular summer destination among the airline’s passengers and that the winter operation would offer a different opportunity to experience the Czech capital.
He said the timing of the service around school holidays and Prague’s festive season would allow travellers from Kuwait to visit the city during a period featuring winter markets, castles and seasonal celebrations.
Pasupathi added that the new operation reflected the airline’s approach to developing seasonal routes in response to market demand.
Prague is known for landmarks including Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, the Astronomical Clock and its historic Old Town. The Czech capital also offers museums and galleries, riverside districts, cafés and a wide range of cultural attractions.
During the winter months, the city takes on a distinctly seasonal character, with illuminated streets and squares, festive events and markets forming part of the visitor experience. Old Town Square is among the key locations for Prague’s winter celebrations and is a major attraction during the festive period.
The seasonal service is therefore expected to provide direct access for travellers seeking a European winter break, including families travelling during school holidays and leisure visitors planning festive trips.
Tourism ties
Barbara Andelová, International Marketing for the Middle East and India at CzechTourism, said the organisation was pleased to partner with Jazeera Airways on the new winter operation.
She said Prague was already well known among travellers from Kuwait during the summer, while the winter season offered visitors a different perspective through its festive markets, historic attractions and cultural experiences.
According to CzechTourism, the new flights will make it easier for visitors from Kuwait and the wider region to explore Czechia during the winter season and support stronger tourism links between the two countries.
Jazeera Airways first launched direct flights between Kuwait and Prague in June 2022. Following the inaugural operation, the airline continued serving Prague through its European summer network, providing passengers with nonstop access between the two cities.
The introduction of winter flights now expands the route beyond its established summer schedule and creates an additional travel period for passengers considering Prague.
Beyond Prague
While Prague remains the country’s principal tourism draw, CzechTourism is also promoting attractions beyond the capital. Czechia is home to more than 1,200 castles and chateaux, 16 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, traditional thermal spas and destinations associated with crystal and glassmaking.
The country’s tourism offering also extends to historic towns and regional attractions. Karlovy Vary, one of the best-known destinations in the Western Bohemian spa triangle, is recognised for its spa heritage, while Český Krumlov, Telč and Olomouc offer historic architecture and cultural attractions.
In South Moravia, Brno serves as the regional capital and a major cultural destination. The Lednice-Valtice complex is another prominent attraction in the region, adding heritage sites and landscaped surroundings to the country’s wider tourism offering.
Jazeera Airways said the new flights are available for booking through its website and mobile application.
Founded in 2004, the Kuwait-based low-cost carrier serves more than 60 destinations across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, Africa and Europe. The airline says it has carried more than five million passengers across its network.
Jazeera Airways currently operates a fleet of 23 Airbus A320ceo and A320neo aircraft. Its order book includes 26 additional aircraft, comprising 18 A320neos and eight A321neos, with deliveries expected from 2026 onwards.
The airline is listed on Boursa Kuwait and operates Jazeera Terminal 5 at Kuwait International Airport, which it describes as one of the first terminals designed, built and operated by an airline for its own operations.
